Palo Verde National Park – Tempisque River

On this tour you will visit one of the most interesting and important National Parks in Costa Rica: Palo Verde. Here you can find up to 12 different habitats: mangroves, swamps, saltwater and freshwater lagoons, swamp forests. During the tour, visitors will enter the Tempisque River, the most important river in Guanacaste. A two and a half hour boat ride will allow you to be immersed in the biodiversity of Costa Rica and experience it from the inside.

From the boat, you can see a fabulous variety of wild birds and a myriad of creatures such as green iguanas, coatis, crocodiles, anteaters and howler monkeys. This park provides shelter to a wide variety of birds such as the American wood stork, the boat beck heron or Arapapá, the tiger heron, the spoonbill spatula and the melancholic tyrant.
