According to the “Travellers Choice 2013” by Tripadvisor, eight of the best beaches are located in Costa Rica.
The best beach in the isthmus is Manuel Antonio, located in a national park with the same name, in the Central Pacific of Costa Rica. The second place is Samara in the province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Apparently tourists have a predilection for the Pacific coast of Central America, as only three Caribbean beaches are among the ten preferred, where Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica was ranked 9th.
The provinces of Guanacaste and Puntarenas, where most of the selected beaches are located receive many tourists every year and the variety of beaches ranging from sites with white sand and a calmed sea to popular sites for surfing.
