For the first time in the Costa Rican history, a group of humbles fisherman how live in Gulf Dulce’s benefits in the south of the country. Will be a huge change in the way they fish, with the objective of obtain only positives consequences improving their fishing activity; besides they will be the new area guards with the main reason that these mistake will never be again affecting the habitat.
Federacion Costarricense de Pesca Turistica (FECOPT) was a great help in this project. Oficina de Cooperacion Internacional de Instituto Costarricense de Pesca y Acuicultura (Incopesca) formalized this project y declare the gulf as a Marine Area for Responsible Fishing (AMPR), which has 750 km2 the biggest in Central America.
