Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge is an environmentally sensitive lodge set on a 165-acre private reserve located within the lush rainforest of the Piedras Blancas National Park, and fronts the pristine coastline of the Golfo Dulce. The lodge embraces conservation and harmony with the natural environment and caters to travelers interested in ecotourism, nature, adventure and sports.
The Lodge accommodates up to 26 guests, offering five private cabins (one and two bedrooms), one three-bedroom house and four private rooms in the Mango Guest House. All accommodations feature private open-air baths, canopied beds, ceiling fans and full length louver doors – with private verandas providing spectacular views of the rainforest. Meals are served in the open air main lodge and emphasize on local cuisine, fresh fish and tropical fruits, vegetables and herbs grown in the property or buy to local farmers.
For those seeking physical challenge or just relaxation, the lodge offers kayaking, fishing, snorkeling, hiking, wildlife viewing, yoga, horseback riding and hammock swinging under the almond tree by the sea. There is also a free daily Sustainability Tour that visits the recycling and composting area, the reforestation center, the solar drying room and describes the construction measures taken when building the lodge.
What also makes Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge so unique and private is that access is by water only. The best way to get there is to fly to either Puerto Jimenez or Golfito; both locations are equally distance from the lodge. Guests will be met at the airport and transport by boat across the Golfo Dulce (the boat ride is approximately 35 minutes). Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge embraces conservation and harmony with the natural environment, and offers a perfect blend of comfort with environmental preservation.
