About Car Rental

Car rental does not include any insurance option. Mandatory basic coverage, required by law, as well as other optional types of insurance can be contracted directly with the car rental agent when car will be delivered. A hold (US$1000) will be placed on the client’s credit card for a security deposit. No debit cards or cash are accepted for the deposit. Additional insurance or second driver option can also be included before signing the contract.For clients traveling with children, please take note that the use of an approved child restraint or booster seat is compulsory for children under 12 years old, according to weight, height and age; furthermore, children are not allowed to sit in the front seat of the car. Seat belts are compulsory for the driver and all passengers in the car.

Rental Requirements

Minimum age for rental is 21 or 23 years old, depending on car rental company
Valid passport
Valid driver license. Driving in Costa Rica with a foreign driver license is accepted during the first 90 days of the stay.
Credit card (Amex, Visa, Master Card) with credit enough to cover the security deposit and the insurance coverage. Debit cards and cash are not accepted for the deposit.

Itinerary:

Day 1

Arrival

Meet and greet at Juan Santamaria International airport and private transfer to your Costa Rica hotel in San Jose, the capital city of the country.

Night in Hotel Park Inn, Standard room

Day 2

Pacuare River Rafting (B, L, D)

Dinner is included in the lodge.

Night in Rios Tropicales Lodge, Deluxe room.

Day 3

Pacuare River Rafting – Sarapiquí (B, L)

In the morning, you will awaken to the harmonious melody of the rushing river and the sweet songs of tropical birds. After a delicious buffet breakfast, the rafts will be launched again for the final day of this river expedition. Rafting the second part of the Pacuare River is even more thrilling as you experience a mix of class III and class IV rapids like Upper and Lower Huacas, Cimarron and Dos Montañas. This morning ends with the satisfaction of having conquered one of the wildest and most scenic rivers in the world during your Costa Rica holidays.

The take-out is near Rios Tropicales Operations Center where lunch is included.

Pick up your rented car (4×4 Daihatsu Bego o Hyundai Tucson, manual transmission) at Rios Tropicales Operation Center, where you will have the time to change clothes before driving to Sarapiqui area.
