Central Pacific Jaco & Herradura
This lodge is located in the surrounding areas of the hills known as Cerros de Turrubares, in the Central Pacific of Costa Rica. It’s a strategic location because the property is practically adjacent to the Carara National Park, near the Cerros de Turrubares Forest Reserve and the Fernando Castro Cervantes Wildlife Refuge. It is a transition zone between wet and dry forests of the Pacific region, very important from the point of view of species endemism.
Visitors at Macaw Lodge can enjoy different adventures amid exotic plants, primary forests, trails and an extraordinary waterfall where they can relax and appreciate the site´s natural beauty. Stay in private cabins located around the garden or in comfortable rooms in the main lodge. They can accommodate up to 28 guests comfortably in their 8 rooms and 4 cabins, which were carefully designed and built not to disrupt the natural harmony of the surroundings.
Each of the rooms in the main building have two full beds, a ceiling fan, and a private bathroom built from marble mined and processed locally, solar heated water, towels and bed sheets made from bamboo fiber, therapeutic mattresses and bedspreads. The screen windows in the rooms and bathrooms are made of a special brass mesh which allows the enjoyment of the breeze in the comfort of your room.
The 4 cabins are furnished with a queen bed and two single beds, a balcony surrounded by botanical gardens and wooded areas, and a fully equipped kitchen for those guests who enjoy more space and independence. Activities within the property: yoga deck, tropical botanical garden, waterfall, permaculture tour, plant a tree and bird watching.
We are active members of the most important tourist associations, both national and international.
