Set in a tranquil piece of earth at approximately 45 minutes from Puerto Jimenez airstrip, and very close to La Palma, the property offers 2 standard rooms, 1 two-bedroom casita, and 6 rustic but well-appointed bungalows. In total, the lodge can accommodate up to 24 people. The perfect location of the bungalows into the rainforest allows the guests the enjoyment of magnificent views of the local fauna in its natural environment.
Additionally, visitors will also experience the real forest’s sounds without leaving its beds. The bungalows feature an open design with a minimal of walls, to ensure the views of the forest and the authentic contact with it. Even though, guests will always feel secure and protected due to the saran mesh that covers the structure and all the beds are equipped with mosquito nets.
Monkeys, birds, insects, and some other mammals are just some of the species that can be observed during the stay in Danta Corcovado. Morning fauna is quite different from the nightly wildlife so, spending some days here, will give you the chance of being immerse in the rainforest as part of a unique experience.
The dining room overlooks a charming creek and towering rainforest. The multi-leveled open air “Ranchito” has tons of character and cozy ambiance, the perfect scenario for a relaxing meal after a day full of adventure. All the meals are prepared by locals and they are authentic Costa Rican dishes, trying to be very innovative using season ingredients so the diners can have the opportunity of enjoying a variety of tastes. There are also vegetarian options available.
It is important to mention that the property doesn’t have pool, the rooms don’t offer A/C or TV, and you will only find Internet signal at the restaurant. In other words, the total disconnection from the “outside world” and the contact with nature is a priority here. Your main distractors will be the sounds of the forest and the views you will get wherever you decide to look.
The property features a recently built lookout, ideal for birdwatching or just for simply enjoy the views of the forest while taking a snack and enjoying the sunset. There are also several kilometers of trails with great signaling, for those who love hiking and a more direct contact with nature. Here visitors can also enjoy nocturnal guided hikes, a highlight of the region cause it allows visitors the appreciation of a totally different side of the forest. Among other activities that can be held in the property one of the most chosen is the visit to the Corcovado National Park entering by Los Patos ranger station -at approximately 8 km from the lodge-, and the “Caminos de Osa” tours.
